Redesign of the documenta fifteen room

The room in the exhibition "about: documenta" dedicated to documenta fifteen has been redesigned in collaboration with the Romanian artist Dan Perjovschi. In 2022, Perjovschi produced a key work of documenta fifteen with his critical but also humorous shorthand comments on the crises and conflicts of our times on the pillars of the portico of the Fridericianum, for example. In "about: documenta", Perjovschi has now created a wall with his comments on the past exhibition summer.

The permanent exhibition "about: documenta" at the New Gallery provides an overview over the past around 70 years of documenta history. It takes visitors on a journey back in time through the history of the art exhibition, which has always been a kind of seismograph that records what is currently happening in the arts, in society and in politics through important key works of art, scenographies, models, films, pictures and documents. On the basis of selected artistic projects, the presentation, now recently extended to include the latest documenta edition, highlights some of the main aspects of documenta fifteen.
